During the signing of the MoU, HMCA Shri Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu @RamMNK highlighted the Central Government’s focus on strengthening aviation infrastructure in West Bengal and expanding air connectivity across the eastern region. He emphasised that initiatives such as UDAN are driving regional connectivity by bringing more cities and communities into the aviation network, with the aim of ensuring that the benefits of affordable air connectivity reach all sections of society. He also underlined the role of a stronger aviation network in promoting tourism, trade and commerce, and supporting regional economic development across the State.

About the Ministry
नई दिल्ली, सफदरजंग हवाईअड्डे पर राजीव गांधी भवन में स्थित नागर विमानन मंत्रालय विकास के लिए राष्ट्रीय नीतियों एवं कार्यक्रमों के गठन तथा देश में नागर विमानन सेक्टर के विनियमन के लिए उत्तरदायी है। यह विमान अधिनियम, 1934, विमान नियम 1937 तथा विमान सेक्टर से सबंधित अनेक अन्या विधायों के प्रशासन के लिए भी उत्तरदायी है। यह मंत्रालय संबद्ध तथा स्वायत्तनशासी संगठनों यथा नागर विमानन महानिदेशालय, नागर विमानन सुरक्षा ब्यूरो तथा इंदिरा गांधी राष्ट्रीय उड़ान अकादमी एवं संबद्ध सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के उपक्रम यथा भारतीय विमानपत्तन प्राधिकरण और पवन हंस हेलीकॉप्टकर लिमिटेड पर प्रशासनिक नियंत्रण संबंधी कार्य करता है। रेल संरक्षा आयोग, जो कि रेल ट्रेवल तथा रेलवे अधिनियम, 1989 के प्रावधानों की शर्तों के तहत प्रचालन की सुरक्षा के लिए उत्तररदायी है, भी इस मंत्रालय के प्रशासनिक नियंत्रण के तहत आता है।
